After speaking to cheryl today i relised that i wasn't fully emerged in the project currently and it was making me have doubts about the course because im not really embracing what i want to do. i decided to come up with some sort of concept i could engage my self in more.

Based on the woods.
Walking in the Woods.
Sign Posts within wooded areas.

Picnics within the woods.

Picnics evolved from the elaborate traditions of outdoor feasts enjoyed by the wealthy. Medieval hunting feasts and Renaissance era country banquets can be credited with laying the foundation of the outdoor dining experiences we enjoy today. The history of picnicking is credited to the Europeans, and nowadays people all around the world enjoying participating in these leisurely outings.
In Europe during the 14th century, the earliest picnics were medieval hunting feasts in England. These feasts before the hunt began were of special importance and the main foods that could be found at these feasts would be hams, baked meats and pastries.

I like the idea of what the modern day picnic, the rich these days now eat in restraints.

Cultural look at how advertising and signposting has a control on society.
we give directions by recognisable places such a food places and shops. big brands of what we know.
Look at how each fast food place is sign posted/labelled.
Brings sites from outside the woods into the woods through using the directions as advertising?

Jog different distances to see how far each one is apart.( could work our calories of walking the distance to the shop for what you can eat when your there)
We have a direct corellation of what we eat to how much excerise we need to burn it in a modern society.

“if you jog to café 164 from here, you can eat a baguette”

Site specific, Yorkshire fish and chip shops. In the area.
New cultural student foods.
Look at the diffrent food places around the woods, what they reflect about the surrounding areas.

Colaborate with graphic design students.
give them ideas and work with them to create new signs for my plates.

Create 6 plates in ceramics, throw a plate?
Glaze 6 plates.
How to Through a plate- my new challenge
think of what materials to use, i like using stoneware clay as i find it easier to use and it is more durable to out door weather.

Once glazed use LAZER TRAN to print 6 different designs.
Ask if white will show up on a colour glaze. may effect the diffrent designs on lazer train paper.

Attach a rope harnis, Hang\nail to trees in the woods.(super glue rope to signs)
put a whole through the top of each individual plate.

ALTERNATIVE SIGNPOSTS FOR LOCAL FOODIES.

Another idea would be to collect glass bottles and make labels on laser tran with directions

I Like the I dea of fish. fish plates Camilla Hawkins

I like the idea of bold colours. LAZERTRAN, ideal home show

..and i could use the same idea on glass bottles

I feel that lazer tran just made ceramics more interesting.
